Saving each layer of a psd file as a seperate image

#1

Does anyone have a premade action that will save each layer of a psd file out as a separate image? I did a search and couldn’t find anything, seems like a common thing people would want to do. Thanks for any info.

I am super busy at the moment so I can’t elaborate but if you create layer comps there’s an action to save as individual files already built into photoshop (I think)…and this action should only save the layers affected by the layer comp :bounce:

Photoshop actually comes with a script for this. Go to File> Scripts> Export Layers to Files.

On a related note, there isn’t an “Export Layer Groups To Files” as well, is there?

The one annoyance of the included script is that it exports the layer within the whole document’s boundaries. I wish there was a choice if one wants to crop to each layers boundaries.
I believe this could be done through scripting.
…any coder around to give a hint on how this might look?
Tks

For scripts go here: http://www.ps-scripts.com/bb/

also Google is a good place to start… Just type in “Photoshop scripts”
