Saslite hair guide templates

#1

I have been having a heck of a time creating useable hair guides for Saslite. I have followed all the tutorials on Newtek’s site and even purchased a plugin to help create the guide splines but I can never get hair guides that work out well. Does anyone know where I can get some premade Saslite compatible (not too many points) hair guides? A male and female version would be best.

Hi,

Do we know if Saslite works with Vista 64 ?
Thanks

Hi, what about downloading a samplescene from Worley’s site for then to tweak that example?

I went to Worley’s site but could not find any sample “wigs” for Saslite or Sasquatch. They have a detailed tutorial on how to create the hair guides from scratch. Wow. What a mind numbingly convoluted process. The way I have seen hair handled in other software is that the hair guides are generated automatically, then cut and comb tools are used to shape the guides in the proper shape. That is much more sensible and lends to easy tweaking and experimentation. Also, Sasquatch does not work with other post effects filters like volumetric lights.

What a hassle. Isn’t there anything better out there? Is Newtek going to give us a useful hair solution anytime soon?

Nah, doubt NT will make anything very soon,…

Worley Sas sample scenes (many)

Alternative, FiberFactory (bout half price of Sas)

Thanks. Those sample wigs are a great starting off point for me.

You can use TrueHair/TrueHair Styler for preparing poly chain hair guides for SasQuatch/SasLite/FiberFactory…
Here is example real-time poly chain hair cutting tool integrated with LW and working in LW viewports: http://www2.trueart.pl/Products/Plug-Ins/TrueHair/Graphics/Movies/TrueHair_CutHair_PolyChain_1.mov

That looks great. On the site it looks like the product is preorder only. When is the product going to be released?

When quality of volumetric renderer will be good, and everything will be working properly.. ;)
After pre-ordering TrueHair Styler for 125 usd, you're getting what you see on this video plus all what you can find f.e. here [http://www.spinquad.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14788](http://www.spinquad.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14788)
Basically it's what you wanted in this thread - have low number of spline hair guides with easy tweaking (integrated with LW viewports), generate denser frozen poly chain, cutting, combing tools, and passing to SasQuatch.. When new alpha/beta is released to beta-testers you're getting it too immediately of course..
