well…i just dont get it. What to do?. I used normal cam DOF…how do i make it work with saslite?
saslite and DOF
Saslite is a post-process plugin, meaning that Saslite or Sasquatch generated hair are actually drawn over the rendered image.
In short, they are not affected by camera and raytracing effects, hence does not work with reflections, refractions and DOFs.
Do you have a compositing application? You might be able to do the DoF in post with a seperate depth map.
compositing apps? I use After Effects for animation, Photoshop for stills but to be honest you could probably fake the DOF in photoshop without the need for a depth map. What is the sas used for hair, fur or something else?
Yes. X-DOf.
Btw, in several cases, this is a way to make Sasquatch works with refraction effect.

U need to be more specific Cold-Liquid, if u using Classic Camera (I’m referring to LW 9 +) u need to disable “One-Pass Antialiasing” in Sas Lite renderer. Of course u need at las 7 AA pases to enable DOF with classic camera. Unfortunately Sas Lite use maximum 17 pases to make DOF (i was really surprised by this and don’t know is this a bug or Sas Lite limitation (tested on LW 9.3.1 x32 on Vista x64 Ultimate)).
If u using Perspective (or any new LW 9 cameras), u don’t have luck, no DOF here .
