Sample .3ds animation

Hey,

I’m trying to test out a .3ds animation in a simulator, but I can’t get the student version of 3ds max to install, which I need to create the animation to test. It says that one of the .cab files is broken, whatever that means.
Does anyone know where I can find a simple animation in .3ds format to test out? Just something as simple as a moving or rotating box. All of the downloadable models I have found are static.
