Rotating light flares

Hi! I am trying to recreate this image in C4D, but I can’t see a way of doing it, other than creating the object in C4D then bringing into AE and playing with Light flares/SABRE etc. When I use normal lights you don’t get the ‘trail’ fade off and when you use a sweep, with the object lit, it’s just solid colour, albeit nice and bright. I tried the ‘glow’ selection but that looks terrible. Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thank you 00

Well there’s a plugin that does just that, it’s called whitelight.

Other than that, you’ll have to do some compositing if you want a nice glow, but you can already get a decent base out of C4D with a simple gradient on a polygon strip + spline wrap.
