Rotate object when parent moves

#1

I don’t know a whole lot about animation and I’m having some trouble doing something that seems simple. I have 2 objects, a crank and a curve. The curve is the parent and when it moves in the Z axis I want the crank to rotate in the X axis and move in the Z axis as well. I have all of this, but when the crank first moves it doesn’t rotate until its about +1 in the Z translate. I’ve put the curve to be infinity in the graph editor and every time it goes a certain distance is slows down near the end and then slides every set amount of distance. How can I make the crank spin consistently when the curve moves?

I’ve attached a file of what I’m trying to do, and if you move the curve in the slowly in the Z axis you will see what I mean about it sliding.
