Thank you guys.
That left column there should do the trick, but i see that “shift+a” does it all.
Shift+A works just fine. But i still wonder, this is not “center view on object” and therefore the rotation is on center view not on object? Max uses “Arc Rotate Sub-Object” to make the selected item (object/subobject) as pivot center for the rotation.
What i found on Modo:
“orbit selected” from view options does the trick but only on objects NOT on sub-objects and bypasses “shift+a”!
“shift+a” centers the selected sub-object/object and you can rotate but not pan or move, unless you press “shift+a” again
rotating without using the top-left icon and using shortcuts. It’s different from that icon. I don’t know why but it is. And it seems to work better, just that i don’t know how to change the shortcut …
Selecting “orbit selected” and using alt+LMB for rotation works perfectly. But is slower that the top-right rotate icon. Also, if you select a sub-object, rotate a little using Alt+LMB and then use top-left icon the rotation centers on the sub-object. Selecting another sub-object and using the top-left icon, the rotation remains centered on the prev sub-object (continues the Alt+LMB rotation). I guess this is a bug…
How can i change the shortcut for rotation? Can i make an icon from that shortcut and replace the bugged one?
The left column has no effect on my experiments…
