Still honing my Photoshop skills!After a few hours, this one is coming pretty nicely so far.

I don’t know how finished this is, but you want to watch out and not make the area around his head too busy with lots of different shapes and values competing for attention. Compose the image so that your main focal point has clarity, and the other supporting elements aren’t fighting for attention.

Indeed, the left area was empty because it’s a …work in progress.
The fact is that I changed my mind and went for a larger format after starting this drawing.

This is a decent caricature of the guy if my guess is correct.

Well my guess was incorrect yet you have a good technique in caricature design.
Like the way you shaped the guitar and colored it.
Considering the title of this image the color and shape of the guitar is the first thing to catch the eye when you view this painting. You were successful with this coordination of image title and object as the central focus of attention.
