Intense and killer man, knew from the beginning that this will be awesome. Love each and every details. Waiting to see the shading part.

#42

Cheers Maxster, appreciate the comment.

Back working on this again. Got some time to model up some more detail.

Gerry Can:(because no self-respecting, post-apocalyptic, bounty-hunter would leave home without one!!)

And a shader look-dev test:

#43

Added some extra detail here and there, and roughed up some more of the Geo:

The ‘baby shoes’ idea was inspired by the motorcycle-riding, bounty-hunter in the film Raising Arizona… The skull was just an idea I was trying out. I’ll probably move it and hang it from a chain instead.

Any comments/crits/suggestions/ideas are always welcome.

@musashidan:

I’ve followed your progress off-n-on throughout the project’s duration thus far, so just had too pop-in after seeing the latest updates. Jeez…I must say to be honest your modelling skills are without doubt par excellence, not only in respect to your depicted polished interpretation of Max’s Black Ford XB “Interceptor”, but personally as a fellow artist, in terms of artistic design elements melded into an overall balanced pleasing aesthetic, not always easy by any means to pull-off, in regard to hardsurface subject matter, however very much so in this instance can be well and truly attributed to this model, also congrats by the way once you’ve finalised this piece for the front page plug, which I suspect is eagerly anticipated by not only myself but many others here as well.

Cheers

#45

Simply amazing!!! Did you finish the scene? or Do you still working on it?

#46

Oh man thats a beast!

#47

Great work, very balanced design!

#48

@ Sacboi - thanks a lot for the kind words of encouragement. Truly appreciate it man.

@Ja3d - Thanks alot. I’ve pretty much finished the modeling(If I don’t just stop adding bits I’ll never finish  ) I havn’t really had any more time to work on it as all my spare time has been going towards creating Zbrush tutorials. But I’m going to call it ready to move on to finishing the UVing/Texturing/Shading…The modeling’s the easy part!

@Scote - Cheers man. I’ve been looking at it off and on for so long now that I sometimes doubt it, so it’s nice to get a nod of appreciation.

@Mister3D - thanks buddy. The design went through several different phases but I think balanced is what I was going for so that’s a big compliment. sometimes It’s a thin line between lots of balanced detail and just plain noise.

I’m calling the modeling finished!!

#49

I built very simple base-meshes in 3dsMax and just sculpted/decimated in Zbrush.

The bull skull base mesh was built with Zbrush 4R7’s new Zmodeler brush. Sculpt/decimate as usual. Render for fun in Keyshot.

#50

Amazing work on this, well done.

#51

Great renders, really like them!

#52

Dillster & leoooou: Thanks a lot for the comments.

Unfortunately I have had to put this project back on the shelf for the last 2 months. hopefully I’ll get a chance again soon to finish UVing/shading and finally try and get some finish renders of this complete.

Thanks to everyone for the positive comments so far.

#53

Just posting to keep the thread alive… Hoping to get back to this project soon

#54

I’m new here on the forums and I’ve to say your thread was an awesome welcome
Amazing modeling skills, buddy! Great job!

#55

Amazing, I also wanted to rev up a car I modeled to give it a look like this.

Seeing your work however makes me put the idea away. I’m nowhere near your skills and seeing this I would put the bar to high for me :).

The amount of detail you model is astonishing, really would love to see the end result.

This definatly is a thread subscription for me :deal:

#56

huge stuff! everything is pretty much spot on, maybe that armor is way to beaten and bumpy it looks almost like modeled out of clay rather than damaged. and those spikes on wheels seem to be just too much, with wrong blade angles, maybe something smaller and stronger

#57

Amazing, reminds me of Death Track. The old DOS game.

#58

JPSchriefer - Thanks a lot for the kind words mate. Welcome to the forums!

Prezzeke - Sorry if I put you off rather than inspired…:) Seriously though, these days it’s not enough to just push the details, you have to keep on pushing them, and yourself. There is so much incredible work around these days and artists that continuously amaze me that the bar keeps getting raised higher and higher. But don’t let that put you off. rather it should push you on to get better yourself. And cheers for the compliment man. Appreciate it.

Winside - Cheers mate. The armour lumpiness is something that can only truly be judged when the shading/lighting is applied. A lot of it will be lost in the texturing. The spikes might change alright, I was never really 100% sold on them, but I kind of grown attached. thanks for the crits. Always welcome.

JDMedia - Thanks a lot mate. I’ve never heard of the game but I was partly inspired by an old tabletop game I used to play many years ago: ‘Car Wars’ - I think it was Games Workshop - I used to take my old toy dinky cars and convert them to cars like this(not as detailed though  ) using bits of model aircraft kits and cornflakes boxes!

Hopefully some progress to come. Backed up and sidetracked by other projects…

#59

Holy crap, this thing is highly detailed. Really nice modeling man! Hope to see more of this

#60

Cheers mate. Hope to get back on this soon. It’s completely UV’d and crying out to be textured!
