Rigging the characters from Rob 'n' Ron

Hi everybody,
I’ve put together a little film showing some of the rigging process in Maya. I had approximately 3 weeks to rig the two character, plus all the props. It was a bit tricky to get the head switch to work keeping all the blendshapes etc. functional. The solution was to layer the main squash and strech on a low res mesh, and then drive all the facial blendshapes on a high res with a wrap deformer. I would be more then happy to answer any questions you might have.

Hey,

I really liked the animation, it looks like you guys had fun making it, it was an interesting blend of 3D animation and real-world footage. I also noticed that the video was added to the “Staff Picks” on Vimeo, congratulations!
