Rigging has deformed my object beyond reason

#1

Hi there

I have rigged a character in lightwave and the rig seems to be working fine. However, it seems to be deforming my character far and beyond the funky chicken dance :frowning:
not sure if it has something to do with the rest rotations/positions of the bones.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I’m fairly new to this.

Here is the link to the object and scene files:

PS. in case anyone is wondering why the foot joints appear different to the skelegon layer on the model, its because i found a tutorial on how to rig the legs using joints and have replaced the bones in the feet with joints. Hope this isn’t the reason for the funky deformations!!

Thanks

You have to rest your bones/joint. Probably some bone or joint has not been rested correctly.

Disable the IK, select all your bones/joints and press “r”.

You should get what you can see in the attached scene.

I played around and came to the same conclusion about 10mins before your reply.

Thanks for the quick reply
