rigging blendshape question

i have a character i created the uvs are laid textures are made now its to the rigging phase. i was wonder what comes next should i rogg and bind my character paint sweights then to blend shpes for the facial expressions or the other way around. can i cut the head from the body and make blend shapes and reattach after im done or no

don’t need to detach head from body, and whatever order is fine. I usually rig, skin then add blendshapes.

but i believe from my personal experience, copying the whole body is not a good idea. must work with only heads…

how not ? I believe blendshapes only affect vertices that move, so the size shouldn’t matter much. And stitching the head back the way it should with the proper vertex id is simply head breaking.
