Does anyone know if A:M is capable to use Renderman compatible rendererers (especially 3Delight)? There was a plugin for that for A:M '99 but couldn’t find a newer version.
RIB output?
In a word. . . no; it hasn’t been updated. Which is a pity; as it’d be great to be able to render using an app. like Sitex Graphics AIR. It’s notable to realize, however that this plugin allowed for you to EXPORT RIB format files. . . In other words, the renderer doesn’t “plug in” to AM . . .this creates a couple problems too. . .
edit Here’s a potential workaround: Download Hamapatch from here; it’ll import a hash model and has better exporting options than A:M (funny thing that). As a modeling program it’s supposed to pretty good actually. . . a future update (check here, and here) supposedly will offer options such as sub-d modeling. It would be nice if Hash took this approach and wasn’t so anal about not using polygons.
