looking for ideas for a background. do i need one? if so what.

other suggestions helpful too. (photoshop cs2 mouse only drawing)

Don’t think of images as subjects slapped in front of an arbitrary background. You need to think of the narrative/idea/concept for the entire image from the ground up. Why are you doing this image? What purpose does it serve? What’s the story you want to tell? What are you trying to express? What’s the point of the image?
