resetting Form editor?!

#1

Hello guys, modo operators and pros.
it seems like i messed up my form editor,
i was trying to add a button, and i screwed up my form editor i guess! :S
what im getting is a menubar with two file menus, two edit menus… two select menus etc…
a pair of each menu. what is this ??
when i try to mark or unmark those menus in form editor in order to delete them, they’re either both selected, or both unselected. the delete button is also not highlighted. i simply cannot delete them, or keep one menu of each.

another problem consists of an error with popups, dropdown menus… popovers… everything! whatever the type of a menu is, i can’t seem to let my finger off the LMB, i must keep my finger on the left button, or else the menu will disappear! how can you explain this??

i uninstalled and reinstalled modo, i cleaned all registry entries and keys with several registry cleaners etc… still with the same problem!

can somebody help me please ?is there a way to reset the form editor to its original case?
many thanks in advance

thanks for your help my friend… but i’m afraid im still stuck with the same problem.
the " revert layout " thingy didn’t work.
Please check the photo attached below.
As you might have already noticed, if i click on File menu, in Form Editor > Menu bar, the second duplicate file menu is automatically selected, if i try to delete on of them, the delete button is not highlighted, i can’t delete both of them as well, if i rename of of them, the second one is renamed with the very same name.

im running outta tricks here… what do you think i should do allankiipli? is there some kinda script embedded in Modo folder that i can run to revert the program to its original state? this is real frustrating

i got it allankiipli ! :bounce:
i deleted Modo.CFG file in C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Application Data\Luxology

it’s back to normal again! thank you my friend
i always miss this application data hidden folder thing.
thanks again…
peace

You haven’t by any chance saved the form and then done an import config of that form? I suppoise this would be eliminated if you started with a fresh config file, but If you do this it will enter a line at the top of your Modo.cfg file pointing to an external file. I don’t really think this is your problem but you may want to open your config file and look at it in a text editor. it will be right there at the top.

I think just this: disable the ‘exported’ (the ‘X’) flag; else i cannot help;

Editing manually .cfg files is risky i think, but you can try after making a copy.
