Renderman 21 Batch Render not Rendering Animation.

Scrubbing through the animation in Maya shows it working, Single frame renders work just fine. Only batch renders completely fail to display the animation. The Character is not moving at all. I have like 150 frames with an animated character if i keep the time slider on a frame (for ex. 85) and click the batch render option, The process will start the time slider automatically goes from 0 to 150 and open the local queue and start rendering my 150 frames. BUT ALL 150 FRAMES ARE THE SAME !!! ( for ex. 85 - the one I kept the time slider before clicking batch render )

I’ve found that camera animation is working in the batch render only the character animation is not working.

Character is standing still and the camera is moving in Batch render.
I’m not sure what is happening. Somebody please help me to solve this.
I have to finish this project before the submission date.
You guys are my only hope.

Ok. I have found the SOLUTION.

  • Adding Evaluation frequency attribute to the shape node of whatever is animated.

Go to Advanced Renderman Controls > View > Geometric Settings > Create > Add/Remove Settings > Find Evaluation Frequency-Right click Add Selected > Then select the whole animated mesh by just dragging in viewport > Then press down arrow key, it will select the shape nodes ( once its selected it will show in the script editor that all the shape nodes are selected ). > Then click Attach.

Ok That’s it. Now Start the Batch Render.
