Rendering sky star and flickers during camera move

#1

As per title, the texture of the sky has many very tiny stars and it will flicker very badly during camera move. Is there anyway at all to counter this?

I’m working on the same thing, it’s harder than it looks. Higher AA has helped a lot, but not completely. Filtering will help, but will also make it blurry. So it not only has to be the right amount of blur, the stars also need to be the right size so they don’t disappear. Perhaps rendering double-size then scaling down will do it. You may also notice how they dim once the camera is moving; I may try to compensate in comp. Tricky stuff.

Also - your display can make it look like it’s flickering when it really isn’t. That might just be happening to me since my monitor is old though -

Good luck

Thanks guccione for the time spent, really appreciate it. But yea, agreed on how it’s harder than it looks, tricky stuffs. Everything has to be the right amount to reduce the flickers to a minimum. Cheers!

I’ll keep you updated on how mine is going, if you’ll do the same

I just looked at the Universal Studios logo… ugh, I have a long way to go :arteest:
