Rendering Particles At HD 1080p

#1

Hey forum! Need help with Maya software render. I have a scene of a solar system, there is an emitter in the middle set as Omni and it generates thousands of Cloud particles. Basically these particles are acting as the Stars etc.

Anyways the problem is when i hit render at HD 720 everything renders good, but increase the resolution to HD 1080p it does not render the particles? Any ideas/ advice would be great!

Cheers. :banghead:

this shouldn’t happen. Are you by any chance using glow ? In the hypershade there should be a node called shaderGlow, and you might try turning off ‘Auto Exposure’ and changing values by hand. But once agains this should happen.

What happens when you change the typoe of particles (to sphere for instance)

heyy, thanks for the reply, yes i am using glow for the particles. I did try changing the particles to spheres. Still gives me the same problem, if i try rendering it HD 1080p the particles dont render, just a black screen with my planets. But setting it to HD 720 maya software renders the particles.

I didnt find the shaderGlow in the hypershade only found ‘Glow’.

hey sry, i did actually find ‘shaderGlow’ too much looking at the screen is making me go blind. I unchecked the ‘Auto exposure’ still gives me the same problem, does not render at HD 1080p.

Ok this is weird but i switched from Maya software render to Mental Ray and rendered it at HD 1080p and it renders fine. So what the hell is happening with the software render? Is it a bug?

I might as well render it with Mental Ray, it gives better result.
