I’m curious why the rendering times for a sequence of frames would jump from about 18 minutes/frame to 45 minutes/frame? The frames are basically some grass on a shadow-catching surface (matteshadow) to be composited later.
All that I did was render the first 100 frames or so, then stopped for a time to do some other things, and then restarted the first batch render to continue on from frame 101. For some reason, the second batch is taking twice or more as long to render each frame.
Examining the frames, they appear identical…I don’t see anything that I can pin this on. I’ve even saved the scene and restarted Maya and tried again. Same thing. So I’m curious if anyone has ideas on what might be going on…or is there some setting I may have enabled that would really make this big of a difference.
Thanks…
