rendering compresser

#1

ok I just upgraded to lightwave 9.3 64 bit, I am running vista home premium, and it dose not seem to recognize my xvid for the compresser, any ideas how I can get it to show up, or is there a better compresser I could download or buy?

If possible, render to frames or a lossless format & then convert to a compressed format afterwards keeping the original. It’s foolish to render straight to a compressed format because you’ll have to re-render it all again if there’s a problem with the compression. I’m sure that I’ve seen free AVI to DivX/Xvid converters on the net.

Look into using Divx instead oif Xvid as I recall Xvid isn’t supported for WinXP 64 bit.
And like the frogman says, render out frames in TGA format and compile to avi afterwards.
You’ll end up wasting plenty of time creating less than perfect avi files while trying to figure out what settings you need to achieve good results.

Thank you for these answers, but how do I take tga format and compile it to avi?

The simplest way, without using any oher software, is to load the frames into the background of lightwave, set the camera to the same size as the frames & render to avi.

honestly, just once more…c’mon, I dare anyone to ask that again.

You might try this free software…very powerful and easy to use.

Hope that helps.
