Hi All-
Hope fully this is the right place to go for RenderMan questions.
I am running in to several problems with MTOR and RenderMan.
- I get these squares all over my render. I went through and trouble shot why using a constant shader to see what the outputs were and everything seemed fine. I then replaced all of my existing Delux shaders with new ones and that alleviated the problem, until I hooked everything in to a Layer Ultimo, which caused these huge pixels.
The shading network is completely procedural with ZERO texture maps.

Any ideas as to what is causing this?
- I occasionally get shader compiler errors, which then cause MTOR to render blank preview nodes and inevitably cause me to restart maya, MTOR and RenderMan. I can maybe understand if it was a shader I wrote… but it is a Delux that can not compile.
Anyone ever face this before? Or offer any fixes or any hypotheses why this may be happening.
I am on a Mac running OS X 10.4.8.
