Render Jamming - Very Strange?!

#1

Ok so this has just started happening lately when Ive started using High-Res (4096 or 8096) heightfields for my terrains from World Machine. Ill render something and it will render fine but then 2 of the CPU rendering lines will jam right at the end, then when I try and close the rendering the program it just crashes. This happens when rendering in Vue 7 and rendering in Cinema 4D using XStream intergration. Here is a screenshot from Cinema 4D when it happens.

See those un-rendered bits in the image they will not render thats it crashed for good. I can minimize the render window and still use Cinema but if I were to try and close the render of stop it its just crashes. When I check taskmanager it still says around 25-40% of CPU is being used by Cinema. I just cant get my head around why its doing this.

Im using Vue 7 Xstream and have 6GB RAM and i7 920, images will render fine and very fast apart from the very end.

Any ideas anyone?

Why is it doing this! Its getting beyond annoying, its only with heightfields. It rendered what it did render in 5 seconds but it just decides it doesnt want to do those sections and jams! Whats wrong with it!

Ive now figured out that it only happens during the Global Radiosity pre-pass, is fine with any other lighting model. Why is it doing JUST in the GR Prepass though seems very random.

Cant really do final renders with out GR.

Does anyone have any idea?

An update to 7.2 has fixed this.
