Removing HD geometry?

#1

Sooo, I was working on my model and I was like “Hey HD geometry would be great for finishing touches” and it was. But now I want to freeze the subdivision layers so I can use Qremesher and keep my lower level subdivisions. I’m rather annoyed at this after the time I spent making nice guidelines for it and such. Is there a quick way of just removing HD geometry? I googled but only thing I found was just importing the model as a new tool or something. I would like to keep the guides I made as well…

if you dont want the HD dont freeze it and un freeze it.
you can keep guides if you save the ztl

take note in the link above there is a plugin and its made for a certain version of zbrush

But if I don’t freeze and unfreeze I lose my subdivisions levels which I want to keep in the first place. I need to remove HD geometry without removing my subdivisions levels…

  • Thanks for the plugin, looks really useful :3

QRemesh it twice.
1: QRemesh kind of high
2: subdivide it a few time and freeze
3: QRemesh low and un-freeze

Tool>clone then select your new clone tool
or make it a polymesh 3D then tool>geometry>reconstruct
