Relocation, advices ?

Hello everybody, today i wanna talk about relocating for designers\artist

I’m a exhibition stands designer, currently living at Ukraine.

I really want to move, my preference USA\Canada\UK.
I currently playing USA Green Card, which is good opportunity to relocate without big amount of problem like if you want work visa.

My skills good enough for this field, but nobody want to help with visa sponsorship, i had conversations with designers from different places around the world, but everyone have same problems ( notwithstanding some of them are veryyy good at design field)

Did anyone had relocation experience and can give some advice ?

I have not relocated per se but I have experienced moving on short term only. I mean 2-3 months the longest. Anyway, I think the priority when moving is how productive you’ll be in the new location. Once that is sorted, I think everything else will follow.

I don’t have personal experience getting work visas, but I know enough from acquaintances that getting one is quite tricky. A company would want to sponsor you for a visa, and sometimes it really comes down to luck. If you have the money for a green card, that’s probably the best route to go. If you don’t, you have to keep working on your portfolio and apply and hope a company is interested enough in you to want to sponsor a visa for you. Good luck!

First, ask your employer about such opportunity. If your company has offices in Canada or USA and has an open vacancy you can address your HR.
If no, there are websites like https://jobbatical.com/ or others where you can look for a job you like. But before applying don’t forget to read feedbacks about a company. Ask if they provide visa payments, accommodation (probably they can send photos?).
