Hello! This is my first forum post here, so please correct me if I do anything wrong.
With that, here is a painting I completed recently. It’s a portrait of an alien character of mine, it’s supposed to have a bit of a dreamlike feel to it, and to provide a basic setting of the scene. The vague outlines of buildings in the background and the business suit are intended to give the impression that he’s a businessperson, and the cigarette is part of his daily routine that helps him detach from the stress of the day.
The pose looks a little bit stiff to me, and I’ve had difficulty refining the clearer parts of the image like his clothing, hands, and his mouth. Any opinions on what I can do to bring more mood into the piece would also be greatly appreciated.
