realtime animation on tv?

#1

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any idea about how to approach this:
Say it is a live tv event (like news) , and you wanna have a 3d character sitting next to a real person, would it be possible to make the 3d guy talk in real time (meaning nothing is pre-rendered, but instead you kinda want to trigger the animations, almost like as if you are playing a game). I think my curiosity is on the technical side rather then the animation it self. Has anyone out there done this before?
Thanks!

for direct interactive facial capture, this is possible.
but interactive texturing in direct rendering time is not good enough, mono/bichromatic shading.

Thanks for writing back.
I’ve been making some research and came across a bunch of different companies with different products.
Have you used anything that you can recommend?
I know mova, but thats beyond my reach, and I actually won’t need all the wrinkles and details on the surface. Looking for something that can handle a cartoon character (with still a good range of emotions of course).
Anything you know about Phasespace products?

Thanks
