I have no idea what caused this but my monitor has some strange effect. *In a CRT I would say it needed degaussing but that isn’t an issue or at least not that I can recall with *LED monitors. *It is about 5 years old so maybe it is dying. *has anyone else seen this?
really odd monitor screen issue
That looks much more like a wallpaper image than a monitor issue. What i can see from the displayed content looks normal, but the photo is to lores to make any educated guesses on what might be the issue.
I forgot to add, the desktop background is a solid color, no image even though it looks that way.
Maybe it’s some sort of screen warping? I don’t know. It reminds me of when you push down on the LCD and the image goes all screwy. Maybe something with the back light? A combo of the two? I can’t imagine that it happened overnight. It had to have been coming on slowly and you didn’t notice. When it reached critical mass… BOOM!
Have you messed around with drivers or refresh rates lately? Just spitballing here.
Whatever the cause, consider it a sign from the universe. Monitor upgrade!
(or… Monitor upgrade … When I save up the cash!! :p)
It looks a bit like the phenomenon called “clouding”. The diffuser on the back of the display seems to have warped or otherwise detached in places possibly due to heating. Either way, you can’t fix it and need a new monitor, I reckon. If you can afford it, NEC Pro monitors are bomb proof. Mine is ten years old, still going strong.
thanks for comformation I figured it was FUBARed, but as long as it works and isn’t too distracting I’ll live with it. . . . of course “accidents” do happen.
