Is this some kind of freeware, or are you promoting warez???

No this looks like legal stuff, probably something he/she created and wanted to share with the rest of the XSI userbase. From what i can see it’s exampleimages and screenshots of different types of materials for XSI and how to create these. Materials such as toon, transparent, translucent, drops, fire and many more. I doubt these are illegal in any way shape or form, just because it’s hosted at Rapidshare does not automatically make something illegal.

That’s true, but like I said, a more detailed explanation is welcome when posting things like this. Rapidshare is not really well known for it’s -legal- content :wink:

I love downloading unidentified and ambiguous .zip files hosted on questionable free hosting posted by members with only a handfull of posts and no information filled out.

Okay… this was posted yesterday and the thread was moved to a quarantine area for obvious concerns. The file had screenshots of different render trees, ppgs and images… but no context, just like the poster’s post (current and previous).

ravendotph, you are urged to provide context to your posts here at cgtalk. It is irresponsible of your to post a link to a zip file on a public sharing site with zero description of what downloaders should expect. Since it is just images, instead of zipping them you could post links to the images themselves and then people could give you feedback or ask questions without being concerned about the safety of their system or network.

Dont worry there’s nothing illegal stuff in here i think u know the answer why i am not posting any of it’s description it’s mean to someone download it in rush and get a rapidpoints but, ,im not posting any nonsense things its just a simple render settings looks real, purpose is to try to play with it and to maintain it’s closer reality looks, ull post anywhere else when uve updated settings using ur own ideas, updating it thinking of anothers idea is the more we can do not only one likes other freeware updating it’s version until it get’s perfect… but i think its ok to start with the rendering fg gi from here.

All the same its considered poor form to simply give a link to a file without any indication of what the content is or any sort of description as to why people should bother downloading it. A short explanation about what the file is could have saved everyone a lot of hassle :slight_smile:

This person posted so many irrelevent posts on XSIBase. I’d suggest keeping a close watch on this person as they are prone to post images with little to no description or purpose.

Please send complaints about individuals and similar things to a moderator or to CGTalk’s administration. Threads are not the right place to have those.

ravendotph, next time please post information about what you’re posting and exactly why you’re posting it and what you would like other users to do with it. Also get a webspace for these things, fileshare sites lack the personal accountability and other things that are necessary when posting files other than images and videos.
