reactivating rig messes up animation

#1

I don’t know if it’s something I’ve done wrong in my characters setup but I can for example, make a walk animation, looks fine, plot it to skeleton, looks fine, then when I click the active checkbox to go back to editing the control rig, the legs are walking still but the torso loses its animation instead going into tpose.

Only thing I can do is replot from skeleton to control rig, which is not ideal!

hmm, I think I found a solution (though quite a stupid one!), if I click the active checkbox that is found under the character tab a bit lower down, that one doesn’t screw things up as the same checkbox a bit above does!! ooooooo kaaaaay

May I ask you why this is not an ideal approach? This is what I would normally do, but since I’m not overly experienced in MB, it’s always great to see how and why other people do what they do.

Cheers

Hey, because plotting back to control rig bakes all my keys on various layers that I still want to edit back down to base layer. And in any case is an extra step (click plot, click process in the menu box) I wouldn’t normally have to do. Like I say, clicking the other ‘active’ box resolves this issue for me.
