well, first of all thanx in advance for your help…
i have rayfire that i used in fragmenting an object, then added the particles in physiX flow, added the fragments in a birth group… the object explodes by itself and i don’t know where the problem is???

reset your pivots, and do a reset xform on the fragments just to be safe

I guess problem in concave fragments.
Try to use Voronoi frag types to prefrag your object.

^ Oh yeah, or that… I’ve been using a lot of voronoi fragging lately, so it’s pretty much second nature to me. :slight_smile:

You should also check to see if you have set your PhysX Shape to Concave… By default it is set to Box (which would make your fragments explode because the boxes are intercolliding from the start).

You could also adjust you PhysX Shape Interpenetration Tolerance to allow some small interpenetration during the start if the sim.

Yep, check that the pre-cut objects have smooth sides, or they will be concave objects, but you want Convex for PhysX Shapes, and set it to Concave on the operator, not box. This will hug the object better and is more PhysX friendly.

If the group still blasts apart on its own, then there is something causing an intersection, in one or more of the fragments. Right now PhysX uses convex objects, so the object should have a smooth surfaces, not a rocky surface. You can use rocky objects, but not in the sim (you could make another copy and link the rocky objects to the simulated (hidden) objects if needed for hero chunks).

thanx a lot my friends… the voronoi fragging and the concave object helped a lot… although they still move a little bit but i’ll pass that by delaying the emmision of the particles untill the the crash happens…
