can’t figure out what’s going on with this surface, can anyone tell me a possible reason why I’m getting noise on the door and other reflective/specular surfaces??? I’ve changed light types but haven’t seen a diff.

looks like blurred reflections to me, have you got a material node on that surface with “roughness” turned up?..or have you got blurred reflections turned on? You’ll know if you have because the render times will be in minutes (or hours) rather than seconds.
