Random green screens in After Effects

#1

I’m not sure what direction to look on this one. I have an AE4 file with imported video clips, text and some graphic elements. There is a small amount of animation on some of the graphics, but mostly just fading in and out.
Sometimes if I scrub back and forth over the time line where a video clip is, I get a green screen instead of the video. This seems to happen in a couple of places. I’ve re-rendered and re-imported the video clips that seem to do it the most. It does not always happen, but when it does, it seems to be in the same clips.
I’ve checked the original clips files and the green screen is not in them, so it’s being generated by AE for some reason.
I have a white background in this AE file so it’s not that. Anyone have any ideas what this might be?
I am running on a PC with Windoze XP
Thanks in advance-

And what exactly are those footages? Sounds like normal blips due to the camera not encoding properly and causing dropped frames or damaged GOPs…

some codecs don’t work well with fast scrubbing around.

Try rendering those videos as file sequences, either PNG, TIF, or TGA, so there’s no quality loss. Replace the original footage with the file sequences, and you should have happy scrubbing.
