R25 Axis Constraint Snap

#1

Hello everyone, does anyone have a solution for this old problem in C4D?

In 3Ds Max or Blender, when you want to move anything, you can select the axis you want to move and then select a reference(vertex, edge, face or whatever). I’ve done some research online and I’ve found that this is a problem for a lot of people, and it seems to be a dealbreaker if you are thinking to migrate to C4D.

There was an old plugin to do this, but it doesnt work on the new versions of cinema, can anyone present me a solution to this?

Here’s a video of the old plugin in action:

Im going crazy about this

Was the guy that made that video in a hurry?

I’m not sure if this is what you want… but do you know about ‘single axis’ snapping in C4D? Here’s a quick demo video I made for someone else a year or so ago:

Right click/drag on the axis handle for the first part to snap the handle to the axis origin, then left click/drag to snap to the target element.
