quicktime h264

#1

hy,

i want to render a compressed movie for vimeo in best possible quality, so i thought i go for h264.
when i render out a movie with quicktime h264 codec, the image lookes all washed out. i tried using the h264 itself as outputformat, which looks all right, but is unable to do HD-format 1280x720.
does anyone know what is causing that error and a possible workaround/alternative codec ?

This has been a problem I have also noticed and tried many work arounds including both the ones mentioned above… Neither seem to produce the same black levels you get from say a H.264 movie from iTunes… I would be very interested to know how the iTunes videos are compressed to H.264 without any of this Gamme shift…
