quick way to freeze an object while preserving texture supports/clusters?

#1

Hello folks,

Is there a quick way to freeze an object in xsi while maintaining texure supports and cluster info? I know I can go in and select modeling operations in the stack and freeze them but wondering if anyone has a quick (i.e. one buttonish) solution that doesn’t involve twirling down in the explorer. Is this something that is scriptable (not by me, but perhaps with someone with actual skills!) ?

thank you,

mm

Only tested in 5.11

  • Select all the objects.
  • Open UV Editor
  • In the UVs menu, Change to Implicit Projection
  • Freeze Modeling on the Objects
  • Disable Implicit Projection

Works here on a simple test scenario.

hello,

thanks, I will give that a try… I don’t understand the logic of it, but if it works, hey!

JDex,
Thanks… it was a little tricky enabling disabling implicit projection but it worked! I thank you and my much lighter scene thanks you.
