Quick way to add lighting to a building? - no need for realism at this point

edit this post is related to Blender’s game engine.

I have a warehouse modelled in Max, I tried Blender yesterday for the first time and imported my model and added some controls to a camera allowing me to navigate and export an exe of this.

However - the interior is very dark, I’m wondering how easy it would be to just add uniform lighting to the whole model, just so I can navigate and see what is to be costructed from an engineering point of view.

Autodesk have Navisworks, and I hope to use Blender as a free alternative with long term aim on future projects of adding some resonable lighting and textures.

Also I had a problem where my clad walls and other objects are transparent when I play the game. Is there a quick fix for this too?

Here’s Max render, this detail is not required though, just need to see if there’s adequate space for access ect. Shadows obviously would be a great bonus at this stage.

This is not required for this project however I’m just trying to expand my skillset.

For the materials, You may need to go through and check that they don’t have ZTransparency turned on, the last time I imported something from Max the materials were exported with a transparency value of 0.5 or something along those lines.

For lighting, you could try adding a Hemi light into the scene and see if that gives you the illumination your after

Regarding materials - that was it. I’m impressed with how quick I’ve been able to knock something up.

Next onto lighting.

Thanks for your help mate.
