quick nuke question re: merge node

#1

Quick question, when using the merge node in Nuke, does it matter which goes in the A and B inputs? Seems like it doesn’t matter which image goes in where they get mixed the same way anyways?

#2

sorry, I should clarify that this is when using the multiply operation. obviously for the over operation it would make a difference.

#3

Think about it:

3x8 = 24
8x3 = 24

Order makes no difference.

Doesn’t make a difference in the result you get, as ndeboar mentioned.

But you should try to have the B input always connected to your main tree, and have your additional elements piped into the A input on merges. That way, when you disable and enable your merges, you’ll still be able to see your main comp, and just the single element will be affected.
