Quick Maya 2016 question

#1

Really quick question, let me hope a quick easy answer…

In Maya 2015 I double click on the move icon (left) and use the ‘set to edge’ button LOTS, so I can move a vert along a selected edge.

In Maya 2016…the button has gone.

How do I move a vert along a selected edge. Where is this button?

Thanks.

So I can turn on ‘Reposition using middle mouse button’, in prefs, then use C and MMB to do this… which is annoying as it’s not just one button press (typical Maya), and the cursor is placed on the edge, not the vert…

I want to know how people have been moving vert’s along an edge…?

c’mon guys!, basic question. Moving a vert along an edge…

12 hours later… HOW HAVE PEOPLE BEEN MOVING VERT ALONG AN EDGE.?

Please someone answer.

I have spent a few hours in 2016… I still can’t do this with a group of verts in one go.

Single verts… I have just… by using c and mmb. But it snaps and really terrible and inconsistent.

hold down D and click an edge…

Thank you ! OK that seems to work , but, the transform icon centres to the middle of the edge. Anyway of doing this with the transform icon on the vert?

If you zoom into the vert, it is impossible to move it if the centre of the edge is not on the screen…

Before, I could choose the edge, then click on the vert. I could then move the vert with it selected and it would move along the edge.

If I am moving a vert, why I want the transformation pivot to centre to an edge?

Mmb and d. Thanks.

I found the position check box too, which keeps pivot in same place… I am liking the changes a little more now.
