I want to get a laptop and have looked around a bit. I want to be able to run Nuke, Houdini, Maya and Mari on it.
Now all the software makers are suggesting the Quadro series. However, with the amount of money I have, I can only afford a Quadro 2000M or Quadro 3000M which is an older generation.
If i go for GeForce, I can take the newer generation in my price range, something like GeForce 765M or even go for the dual geForce 770Ms
The geForce cards look better on paper than the Quadros (from what I can afford), but Quadros are supposedly a better tuned to 3D applications.
What do you suggest. Is it worth getting a card that is nearly half as good but is better tuned?
Also, if I get the geForce, I can go for a 4th generation i7 processor.
Apart from the graphics card, I am getting a 32 gig RAM and a 250Gig SSD as teh primary boot drive. I guess that should be okay?
It is between Alienware and Dell Prescision
