Howdie all, I’m trying to model only in quad poly’s, and I need some help making some 4+ sided polys down to 4, I’ve tried “making a poly” by clicking 4 points, but they still come up as 4+ sided… please help?!

what would be the best way to boolean a multi sided disc to a flat quad poly and keep it a 4 sided poly?
Select your n-sided polygon, switch to point selection mode, select two oposite points from->to where you want to split it and hit l to split that polygon into two with lower point count.

If you want to make the “caps” of a cylinder into quads the easiest way I’ve found is to “collapse polygons” or “make pole” which will create a point in the center and create triangles from the edge to the center…then merge the triangles in groups of 2 to create quads.
