Pyrocluster excessively crashing...

#1

I just bought Pyrocluster and installed it, but now it crashes 7 times out of 10 on renders, using the scanline default, mental ray and Brazil Rio. Has anyone had this problem? I’m not doing anything that advanced with it… just throwing it on a particle system and rendering it.

setup:
MAX 2009 32bit (with Vue xStream 7, FumeFX and Afterburn)
winXP home SP3
amd athalonx2 5600+
3gb DDR2
nvidia gforce 9800GTX

I’ve been trying to figure it out for a few days now… really bummed casue I wanted to get working with particles in vue and afterburn and FFX dont really mix with it so well…

thanks,
dory

Saturday bump…

I noticed that it will actually render once then crash on the second try; regardless of what rendering engine I use.

One last bump… anyone? Someone on another forum suggested it was a licensing issue but I cant figure out what it would be.

Have you tried contacting Cebas or who you purchased the plugin through?

If you haven’t done so already, you want to head over to cebas.com , and in the support section, sign up for the support forums. That’s where you’ll get your quickest answer.

FWIW, Vue Xstream is already buggy enough as it is. I personally wouldn’t attempt to use it AND an atmospheric, like Pyrocluster or Aftrburn. Makes those separate passes or something.
restart Max, and try your Pyro renders without Vue running. It has Max rendering the non-vue content, and it is simultaneously rendering Vue content with the Vue render engine.
I wouldn’t dare try to add more complexity to what’s already occurring.
