purchasing vue...how?

#1

I’m surprised to see anyone has Vue 6. I’ve been trying to purchase it for a few days now. First I tried to download the PLE, but all I got was a place to enter my e-mail address so they could send me instructions on how to download. The instructions never arrived.

I have Vue 5, so I felt comfortable moving forward with a purchase without trying the PLE. I tried placing an order online and got this message: This product is available on demand only. If you are interested in purchasing this product, please fill-out your e-mail address below, and click the “Inquire about this product” button. We will send you an e-mail with instructions on how to purchase this product.

Aren’t all purchases “on demand”? And why do I need instructions on how to purchase something when I’ve been ordering online for a decade?

Needless to say, instructions never arrived again (and it’s not because of spam filters because I get e-on’s regular spam all right). I tried calling and reached their telephone sales department. The lady told me I’d have to place my order online and they can’t do phone sales. I told her that I specifically dialed the extension for “telephone sales”. She repeated that it’s a misunderstanding, their “telephone sales” department doesn’t do telephone sales. (?!?!?)

She told me to order online. I explained the difficulty and she referred me to their feedback forum area online. After filling out a request to have a sales representative contact me so I could give them money, they responded by telling me I could call their France office, or place an order online.

Back to square one.

Sorry for the extended moan, but has anyone experienced this? Are we in the post-customer-service era? I can understand the runaround when you’re trying to return something, but when you’re trying to buy something? In corporate-speak, this is a fine example of a company that builds moats when it needs gateways. It’s too bad such a great product is marred by ineptitude, a lack of customer service, and a horrendously designed website that doesn’t let you add items to your shopping cart or download a free download.

End of moan.

Agreed…they really, really suck at the whole customer experience, whether it is sales or support. It took me two weeks just to get the seat I paid for and I don’t even bother looking for support with the company…it doesn’t happen. Fortunately, the software has been improved enough to make it usuable and the results are usually impressive.
Good product, really bad company.

I bought Vue 4 from e-on. No Problem. I bought Vue Easel for my daughter - no problem.

I’ve updated to Vue 4 pro, Vue 5 Infinite, Vue 6 Infinite all through e-on’s web site. Never had a problem with ordering or getting my software.

Each time I have used tech support through the web site I have had an answer within 48 hours. Most of the time within the same day.

I have no idea why you are having a problem, but it not a system wide failure or a poor web site design. http://www.e-onsoftware.com/buy/?page=buy

Downloading the PLE didn’t work for me with IE7, but worked alright with Firefox.
The e-mail with the download link landed in my spam folder, maybe you should check yours.

I’ve never had a problem with E-On at all. twice I contacted customer support and both times I was dealt with within hours. I started with Easel and upgraded all the way to Infinite without a glitch…

i just bought Vue 6 infinite. no problems. i used a paypal account and just bought it straight off their store. no problems other than the fact that it took about 3 weeks to arrive. Did you try going to their store and purchasing it off there?
