Purchasing Question - How do 'Upgrades' work?

Hi people…
I’ve recently purchased an old version of After Effects from Ebay (version 7.0 to be exact) off of a re-seller.

The version is a new and sealed official legit version with a genuine license…

I was wandering if I would qualify to purchase an ‘upgrade’ version of the more up to date CS4 with this old 7.0 version I currently own?

Yes, you can upgrade from After Effects 7 to After Effects CS4.
