PSCs6 Can't do much with 32bit HDRI Image

#1

I am trying to stitch a series of HDRI images together in CS6, but I can’t seem to make layers or do much of anything - it’s like the 32 bit image can’t be rasterized, or I have to convert it to 16bit, which is obviously not what I want.

How can I work with a 32bit image?

I’m using CS6 and I can create layers in a 32-bit image. The main limitations seems to be that most of the filters don’t work, and about half of the blend modes don’t work either, which is kind of a bummer.

You should be able to stitch images together on your own using multiple layers. If you are creating a panoramic using PhotoMerge, then…yeah, that might be different.

You might want to try Photoline when working with 96bit images - no limitations as far as blend modes and functionality is concerned.

However, certain operations will not work in true 32bit per channel mode. Photoshop blocks those, while Photoline leaves it up to the user to be smart about it.
