problems exporting normal map from zbrush

#1

This is my second ever attempt at sculpting in zbrush, IMHO it was going well. Now I want to export the normal from the highest sub-division level possible. Zbrush says “map cannot be created while the highest sub-division level is active.” I thought a simple workaround would be to sub-divide again to level 6 and make level 5 active (level 4 is rubish and simply won’t do).

//edit, previously it was giving me grief, not letting me sub-divide due to smthg w/ the history being active or smthg,
//now it seems to allow me to sub-divide further

So I hit the “Create NormalMap” button and this is what I get;

The UVs were all laid out in max prior to import, can’t imagine what’s wrong, plz advise.

you need to go to the lowest subdivision
not divide it again

zbrush is fuuny about maps , example if uvs touch border ,they wrap and ya get weird lines in your map in zbrush, check your texture map and make sure it looks good there, no cutting lines or weird blocks of color!
