Problem with ripple text effect placement

#1

Sorry if this is very easy or in the help (newbie question). i was up until 4:00am trying to get this to work and I need sleep. I am going to look at it over the weekend, but if anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated.

Concept: words ripple and fade in then, ripple, blur and scale out, so they look kind of like dreamy smoke. I am sure there are better ways to do this, but I was in a rush and this seemed the most obvious.

After a bit of mucking around I got this so it all looked perfect when scrubbing through and caching in “best” mode. The text rippled beautifully. When it finally rendered though, it appeared that all the ripples disappeard. I had to get some sleep and had class today, but I just looked at it again, and it appears that the ripple effect is still there, but instead of being applied to where the text is, it is being applied to the top left corner, with the effect that by the time the ripple edge reaches the text, the results are negligible.

To my knowledge I didn’t change anything from when it looked great in cache to when I rendered. Any reasong why it would change the position of the ripple and is there any way to get it back to the middle. My opening sequence looks fine without it, but I know it would look a LOT better with it.

Thanks for any help

NB: The timeline shows the ripple (out from centre) sitting at about 18, then when the text fades in the ripple decreases to 0, holds, then increases as the text fades out.

ETA: I have maxed out the rippled in the attachment to show the location/area in question.
