Problem with partial subdivision

Hi all.

I’v a weird problem with partial mesh subdivision. I select bunch of polys in place where I want to subdivide and press SHIFT+D. But instead partial subdivision in that place, a whole mesh is subdivided. I’ve tried every combination, with cursor onto selected polys, with selection set etc, but problem still exist. A whole mesh is subdivided instead of only selected polys.

Anyone knows what’s going on? Is there any differences between ver.2009 and previous in that matter?

There is no local subdivision in 2009. I found that out today, actually. Spread the knowledge.
