Problem with Mental Ray bake to texture

#1

Help! I’m trying to bake the lighting from a Maya scene into a texture using mental ray batch bake and the resulting light map does not match what I see when I render the same scene in the render view. As a test I created a simple scene, set the render settings to use mental ray and created a new Physical Sun and Sky. The render in the scene view looks like this:
Render view

But when I bake the texture out using batch bake, I get this:
Batch bake texture

My bake settings are as follows:
Objects to bake: Selected
Bake to: Texture
Bake shadows: checked
Keep original shading network: checked
Use bake set override: checked
Color mode: light and color
Normal direction: surface front
X resolution: 1024
Y resolution: 1024
File format: TIFF
Bits per channel: 8 bits
Number of samples: 1
Bake to one map: checked
UV range: Normal [0 to 1]
Fill texture seams: 3

I found if I break the connection between my camera and the physical sun and sky light and render that in the render view, I get this:
Broken camera connection

So it seems that mental ray texture bake is not using the mental ray lights at all, but some wierd default lighting, like when the camera connections are broken. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it?
