Problem with animation (not fluid)

#1

Hi guys!
i recently began trying to make animations and i have a problem with the fluidity in every animation i make.
i try to do it with playbast and with Batch Render and the result was the same.
In my preference options i set the Settings/time: Film (24 fps) and in, Time Slider/Playback speed : Real-time (24fps).
I watched some tutorials to know how to set my Playblast options and it always does the same thing, it’s seems like it shakes, like I’m seeing every frames… (not fluid)
i tried to make a Batch Render with the setting to Quality : production , i set the image format to “tiff”, “targa"
you know, the base settings for Batch Render animation
and when i reunite all the frames in one movie file (quicktime player … with 24 frames sec) it’s always shaky and not fluid
so … lol
my question is: is there a setting i have to change or something? did i do something wrong in the animation process (i did a basic animation with key frames) or is it my video card ??.. it’s a ATI Radeon HD 4850 (512 mo) (my computer is a imac 27 inch i5)
but i dont usually have problems with my video card doing other things like …watching movies or playing, or any kind of things in maya (modeling, texturing…)
i put a short video on youtube … so you can see the problem i have. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdTZsIhWpHg
so please HELP ME!
Thank You very much for your time.

From what I can tell your having spacing issues man. open up the graph editor and smooth out the translation f-curves for the ball. you’ll also probably need to slide around the timing of the keyframes to get the spacing right.

If the wireframe playback looks smooth then the rendered animation will be smooth too. You may be viewing the fully “rendered” bitmap images at 24fps so it may be skipping some frames because the resources can’t keep up. When this happens, there are settings to scale down the frames 2x smaller before they are put into memory so it takes less resources to show the frame at a fraction of a second, of course the flipbook will be smaller.

I use an ATI 4830, and have no problems at all. Like everyFrame says it seems to be a “problem” whit the Graph Editor. Maybe you have set the tangents as “Linears” in “Preferences-settings-animation” That way every animation you’ll start will be whit this kind of tangent. Change it in the graph editor.

P.S.: changing it in the Preferences windows will take effect on the next keyframes, not the one you already done
