Hi kbarts,
It’s looking very nice!
But, am not quite sure, why there are 2 moons in your matte? I’d suggest you to have the smaller moon in your matte, & remove the bigger one! The 2 moons are somehow distracting the vision, & not allowing my eyes to stay focused at one point in your matte!
It’s just my personal opinion! Overall, it’s looking fantastic! ![]()
Thanks you.
In the brief theere was two moon, so I needed to put 2 moons on the image. but i tried to not put them too far away from each other. They work a bit better closer.
Great to see a new matte from you Bence! The two moons works ok IMO. Its a difficult concept to pull off but i think you did it well. Im viewing the on an iphone on the train so its difficult to see details, but the overall atmosphere looks good. Will have a proper look when i am back at my computer.
Hope this means we will see more new work from you soon!
Nick
Hey,
Here’s my 2 cents
Idea: flip the image and/or move the moons to the right, and flip only the midground hill+castle(structure) so they ‘point’ towards right.
Elements: I feel the moons are too much alike. Try making the bigger moon with another color/texture like blue or something?
Elements: I’m not getting a star wars feeling on this one, mostly because of the structure which looks more fantasy than sci-fi…at least for me
Hope it helps
Thanks your comments.
About comp:a starship will be landing behind the fg trees on the scene and i think it will come from right.
I changed the bigger moon, i will post it.
I have got a sketch from the structure and I used it. So it is not my design:( But I agree about that.
Now i am watching the pic on my iMac in the office and it looks too dark. At home i saw a lot of details in the foreground trees, but here it is burned out:(
here is an updated version.
Changed the bigger moon and moved the central mountain a bit right.

Great image
I’m no matte painter, just browsing the boards, but it seems very obvious to me the your two moons have very different light sources. They’re at different colours and different directions.
